Solar Sonoma County - Who We Are |
Solar Sonoma County, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization is a consortium of local governments, businesses, solar vendors, energy efficiency
professionals, nonprofits, and individuals working collaboratively to advance
Sonoma County's transition to clean, renewable energy. In March 2008, SSC set a
target to achieve 25 new Megawatts of solar in Sonoma County by March 2011.
As of April 2010, Sonoma County has seen more than 11 new Megawatts of solar electricity
toward that target and the countywide cumulative historical total stands at 28
Megawatts (does not include solar hot water installations).

We are presently funded by grants from the U.S. Department of Energy's Solar America Cities program as well as our local partners including the City of
Santa Rosa as well as all nine other local governments in Sonoma County,the Sonoma County Water Agency, Pacific Gas & Electric, Agilent Technologies,the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 551, more than 40 solar and energy efficiency companies, and many other local organizations, businesses, and individuals.
